9. Paying tribute to Mary
The restored headstone to Wearside radical activist "Mary" was in the headlines in September 2021. Standing by it were Rev Chris Howson, ceramic artist Mary Watson, with Friends of Sunderland Cemeteries, Stephanie Smith, Zoe Heslop, Allan Tutty and Jean Spence.
